Grounding Systems Design and Testing for Critical Facilities

Start Time: 10/25/2017 2:15:00 PM
End Time: 10/25/2017 3:15:00 PM

No one questions that the grounding system for a facility is critical. Along with assuring equipment operation and power quality, it dissipates electrical surges collected by surge suppression (AC, RF, Telco) and lightning protection systems. This presentation covers the basics of two common testing methods, presents a one-line electrical diagram explanation of test theory and discusses common mistakes.

Learning Objectives:
1. State the definition and purpose of grounding
2. State the single most important factor to consider when designing a grounding system with a projected resistance to earth
3. Name the testing procedure utilized to measure the resistance to earth of a grounding system
4. List the two preferred bonding methods utilized in grounding
