Workshop--Commissioning Agents Logbook: Legends of the Fail

Start Time: 10/23/2017 1:00:00 PM
End Time: 10/23/2017 2:30:00 PM

Primary systems that primarily fail, back-up systems that don't back up, interruptible uninterruptable power supplies, upgrades that actually downgrade, control systems that are out of control…It's very easy to miss something crucial and nearly impossible to get everything right. But in data centers and critical facilities, the price of missing even the simplest thing can be exorbitant. Join storyteller and commissioning engineer Brandon Sedgwick as he shares war stories, fables, and cautionary tales from the trenches.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how even the smallest detail in a fundamental system can become the single point of failure that disables a facility
2. Gain insight into how a highly-effective commissioning team finds and addresses potential concerns
3. Prevent common issues such as design, implementation, operations and maintenance from becoming costly problems
4. Extract lessons learned from successful and not-so-successful implementations to improve methods and avoid disaster
