Advanced Asset Management for Critical Facilities

Start Time: 9/24/2019 9:00:00 AM
End Time: 9/24/2019 10:00:00 AM

Many Critical Facilities are governed by compliance regulations. As a result, FMs have to know what equipment exists, where it is located, and how often it requires inspection. A Facility Asset Data Requirement and Turnover Procedure must be established and implemented to ensure that all changes to equipment, including construction and renovations projects, are turned over with all required data to the facility owner. In this session, we will discuss how organizations can leverage industry standards to develop a Facility Asset Data Requirement and Turnover Procedure. We will then discuss how this topic relates to Asset Management and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the implications of tracking or not tracking equipment as assets.
2. Identify common reasons organizations decide to track certain equipment types as an asset.
3. Identify core industry standards that can be leveraged during the development of a Facility Asset Data Requirement and Turnover Procedure.
4. Establish future organizational goals related to Asset Management and BIM by leveraging an established Facility Asset Data Requirement and Procedure.
