Safety in the Age of Hyperscale Construction

Start Time: 9/25/2019 2:30:00 PM
End Time: 9/25/2019 3:30:00 PM

Nearly 20 percent of workplace fatalities occur in the construction industry, a statistic that’s measurably worse for first-year laborers, who account for 60 percent of construction site injuries. On massive data center campuses, it’s not uncommon to see hundreds of laborers per trade. So how can we make the environment safer for everyone? This session offers insights into how technology, advances in modular construction, new software technologies and design innovations can contribute to a safer, more efficient construction atmosphere.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the importance of safety in design
2. Identify the hierarchy of controls and concepts for incident prevention
3. Review emerging technologies in incident prevention
4. Analyze the effects of modular construction
